Our Method
Every article and fault-code entry starts from primary sources: owner repair threads, community documentation of Tesla alert codes, published service intervals, and — where possible — real invoices that readers share with us. We synthesize these into plain-English explanations with three-tier cost ranges (dealer / independent / DIY) and an honest DIY difficulty rating.
Verification Levels
Fault-code entries are labeled as community-sourced until they are cross-checked against multiple independent owner reports or technician input. We would rather show you an “unverified” label than pretend certainty we do not have. If an entry is wrong, the verification note tells you exactly how much to trust it.
Corrections
Accuracy is the entire product. If you spot an error — a wrong interval, a cost range that no longer matches reality, a misread code — email [email protected] with the page URL and what should change. Verified corrections are applied to the page, and material fixes are noted in our update cycle. We aim to respond within a week.
How We Fund the Site
DIYEVRepair is supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) and clearly-marked affiliate links (currently Amazon Associates, tagged nofollow/sponsored per FTC guidance). Affiliate relationships never change a cost estimate, a DIY rating, or a repair recommendation. If a tool or part is bad, we say so, affiliate program or not.
Use of AI Tools
Like most modern independent publications, we use AI-assisted tooling during drafting and editing. Every page is researched against the sources above, fact-checked by the editor, and revised for accuracy before publication. AI is a drafting tool here, not an author; responsibility for every claim on this site rests with its human editor.
Independence
We have no relationship with Tesla, Rivian, Nissan, or any manufacturer, parts supplier, or shop network. We do not accept sponsored placements, paid reviews, or manufacturer preview access. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
